Galaxy W OS:  is running Gingerbread 2.3.6

Since i purchased this phone 2 years ago its Android Version is old enough for new developed apps i wanted to try.
Thru my curiosity and willingness to update this phone, i searched a lot on how to update my phone to the latest Jelly Bean 4.1.2. And that leads me to this site. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1477  (for the complete guide).

MY VELOXROM running 4.1.2 JellyBean REVIEW

Note: I love this ROM so much its my daily driver. I'm just here to state my personal experiences in using this ROM.

REMEMBER: Every smartphone (battery,APP) performances depend on the user.

I'm using this ROM for 3weeks now, i guess enough for me to create my review.

I'm running the latest version of VeloxROM from miki2o.

You can download it here:

[ROM][JB]VeloxROM v3.3[12/04/2013][SMOOTH\OTA\GAMING\MEGA BOOST]

First: The Way It Looks

I love its UI, I love the small icons on APPS on STATUS BAR and NOTIFICATION DRAWER. I JUST LOVE THE WAY IT LOOKS.

Note: I'm using Neon Colors CM10 Theme

Download Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nitinvaid.theme.NeonColor&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5uaXRpbnZhaWQudGhlbWUuTmVvbkNvbG9yIl0.

SECOND: Gaming Performance I can't post a video in here, but then my experience was AWESOME! I play Subway Surfers, Temple Run 2, Angry Gran Run smoothly and no lag at all! Yeaahhh!
But i wasn't sure 3D/HD games run smoothly, my phone doesn't have enough memory for me to download heavy games. Sorry!:)

THIRD: Camera Quality/Resolution

Yes people! Camera works in VeloxROM because it is based on CM10 latest release, but still the green thingy annoyances still there when taking pictures. BUT THE SAVED pictures was okay.
Still nothing can beat the goodness in camera quality of stock GB on my wonder but i can use to it. Some third party apps give good resolution though. :)   Oh! VIDEO RECODING still doesn't work on latest VeloxROM. I'm still hoping in the next build or update, it will work :)

Screenshot: Before Capture                                 Saved Image :D (good quality a bit when saved)

FOURTH: Storage

SD Card is already swapped in this ROM. The External SD Card is used as the Internal Storage so if you have a huge SD card then it is basically what you need. :)

FIFTH: Mega Boost Sound

Miki2o added Awesome Beats in this ROM output in both speaker and headset are great. What more can i say i just love this ROM! :D

SIXTH: Is this ROM able to Deep Sleep?

Better Battery Stats will explain. :D
This screenshot was taken with Deep Sleep Pro which i currently installed :P  why i did this review with the help of other app? the answers are below :P

SEVENTH: Big Issue is the Battery for me.

I put this in the last section because i wanna be in-depth.

First thing: I'm mainly on light-moderate use of my phone.
Light-moderate use for me are as follows:

1. Wifi about 5-10 mins the whole day(yes!!!i rarely use wifi)
2. 3G off!( yes! i don't use mobile connection) My phone don't have life haha :P
3. Minimum brightness like less than 10% all day.
4. 5-10 Sent SMS per day (no MMS), 3-5 Calls (about 3 mins longest)
5. A 3-5 minute game per day (just when i have nothing to do, i'm a busy person) :)
6. Music Player about 30mins-1hour using headset only!
7. Not watching movie on my phone or browsing youtube videos or any videos at all.
8. Apps consist mainly of battery sucker Facebook, Instagram and some photo editor. (sorry i'm a girl) :)
9. Background data was set to NO PROCESSES AT ALL.
10. No synchronization.(just on when i'm trying to download thru Play Store :))
11.  My CPU Governor: is OnDemand Min: 245MHz Maximum: 806MHz (Oh GAMES are laggy in this setup)

And so this how my battery works:

As you can see i have 72.5% Deep Sleep but then i keep loosing juices every hour with no usage at all. They say that CastagnalIT kernel (the attached Kernel on the updated VeloxROM is a battery drain friendly) as i have read on XDA forum(but i forgot where is the forum located to show you).

I'm using Deep Sleep Pro on SLUMBERER PROFILE and One Power Guard on Standby Mode when i took this screen shot.

WHY DO I STILL USE OR STAY ON VELOXROM?

Because I LOVE THIS ROM, and the battery drain issue wasn't that huge since my phone can last a whole day without plugging it in. So for a smartphone to last that long is pretty good though.

TO GENERALIZE!

I love this ROM, although way before i was a fan of CM9 based ROM who gives me 3days battery life with my usual phone usage as stated above.
This ROM just suits my personality. The UI, the performance, Ijust love everything except the NOT ABLE TO RECORD VIDEO and BATTERY DRAIN ISSUE.

Either way i SALUTE the developer of this ROM. I can't thank him thru XDA because i'm not a developer and i can't post there. Anyhow if this blog come crossed to him.

THANK YOU Sir Miki2o :)

- Thanks for reading guys.

Credits to XDA Forum for providing me with some knowledge :) regarding this matter.
